For the most part loot "upgrades" will be cosmetic only. This doesn't mean we can't, in the future, support game-types specifically designed for people who like pay-to-win or microtransaction-heavy game mechanics.
Yes, all games on Vidya Games will be free-to–play. However, if you wish to purchase in-game loot and/or play-to-win, Vidya will be required to do so.
Community members will be known by their reputations, effectively blacklisting users who refuse to play fair from participating in tournaments or finding players willing to play in lobbies where they are present. In some cases, cheaters will be IP banned to make it increasingly difficult, though not impossible, for them to connect to the game.
